Choosing an undermount rangehood
Undermount rangehoods that sit concealed in the cabinetry above your cooktop, for a clean, streamlined look. Brands include Schweigen, Fisher & Paykel, Smeg, Bosch and Electrolux.
Because the rangehood is built into a cabinet, fit is everything. Check the cabinet's internal dimensions against the installation specifications, and plan the duct route early. Undermount rangehoods work best ducted outside, and some can recirculate with carbon filters. For a quieter kitchen, Schweigen silent models mount the motor outside on the wall or roof.
Replacing a rangehood? Check the new one suits your existing cut-out and can use the same ducting or flue, otherwise these may need changing. Your installer can confirm.
