Choosing a slideout rangehood

Slideout rangehoods with a fascia that pulls out when you cook and tucks back into the cabinet when you don't. Brands include Smeg, Bosch, Westinghouse, Artusi and Beko.

On many models, pulling the fascia out switches the rangehood on and extends the capture area over the front burners. They fit under a standard overhead cabinet, so check the cabinet width and depth against the installation specifications. Ducting outside is more effective, and recirculating needs carbon filters.

Replacing a rangehood? Check the new one suits your existing cut-out and can use the same ducting or flue, otherwise these may need changing. Your installer can confirm.
