Choosing an undermount sink
Undermount sinks that fix beneath the benchtop, so you can wipe straight into the bowl. Brands include Blanco, Abey, Oliveri and Artusi.
They're popular with stone and other solid benchtops. The cut-out and fixing are done by your benchtop installer, so share the sink's specifications and minimum cabinet width early. Taps usually mount on the benchtop or wall, though a few designs have a tap landing, a ledge built into the sink for the tap.
Replacing a top-mount sink? Compare inset sinks, and finish the look with a pull-out mixer tap.
Planning a new benchtop? The family-run Powerland team has been helping Australians choose since 1994.
